Step 1: Identify Symptoms and Prepare Injector

Before ever using the injector, always look for signs of systemic anaphylaxis within a patient.

Respiratory distress

trouble breathing, wheezing, or shortness of breath

Hypotension

dizziness, fatigue, the urge to faint, low hear rate / blood pressure

Laryngeal oedema

swelling of the throat, swelling around the mouth and eyes, difficulty swallowing

Once you've identified the root cause of the reaction, check that the medication is not expired and that the solution is clear and colorless.
